Line-spacing options #39

open opened by harryisquite.gay

A friend of mine writes a lot of poetry and I managed to convince him to try using leaflet as a place to host his poems, but he's noted that there are some formatting options that help with poetry that are lacking at the moment, the main one being more control over line-spacing. I don't know how much of a priority this is or if this is already planned as a feature, but I felt I'd make note here in case.

Hey, glad to consider and we're going to take a look soon at text formatting, including font options. One thing that might be helpful, you can shift-enter for line breaks within a text block (w/o making new paragraph, as enter does by default). What other setting(s) would be useful specifically? The more detail the better, whether it's request for more global theme settings or more block-level options etc. Thanks!

Ooh didn't think that'd make a difference since I'm used to just using shift+enter for normal carriage returns rather than a line break in a text block. I think maybe having a more clear indicator in the keyboard shortcuts could help as I had looked but didn't see anything like that mentioned. I've asked them now and they've asked whether there could be some more line spacing options in general so it can be set as a default would be handy to make it easier to migrate older poems over or just for ease in the future too.

I think honestly both global and block-level would be useful, whether global line spacing could account for distances between blocks too and block-level spacing is just text within it maybe? For them it seems more of a global default would be useful, but I'm sure it comes down to the user's preferences. Also ty for the fast reply ๐Ÿ™‚โ€โ†•๏ธ

Thanks! Not sure if/when we'll get to this but will keep in mind. Probably more likely to do some simple global theme settings than per-block configuration.
